I See Waste : Episode 1

Greetings!

“I See Waste” is a series of mine where I will cumulate information about the waste management around my locality, as I move frequently so the data will be from many places. But the data and images tells the same story of waste across the nation.

1. Talked to garbage picker

Information gathered:

• Plastic 11/kg
• Iron 28/kg

I helped them to pick plastic bottles from street.

2. Talked to garbage picker

Information gathered:

• He had a tri cycle and collects waste from dumps.
• One bag of waste costs around 400-500 ruppes

He asked if I wanted to do this job, I said yes! He chuckled and said, " Kyaaa? Aap itne bade aadmi hokar ye kaam karenge😂"

3. Talked to garbage truck driver

Information gathered:

• From Beheraampur waste goes to a common collecting point and from there it goes to Mohan nagar

4. Talked to lady waste picker

Information gathered:

• Had two daughters one is married, it’s good that’s she’s picking waste instead of nothing.

Waste management is something I feel is approaching me to do something about it and I will!
