What do I want?
I want to create a community which uses Free and Open Source Software.
Why FOSS Community?
Today’s big tech software is convenient, simple to use, attractive, popular but these are not all the measures that a software is to be judged by.
What about privacy, security, a healthy community which respects each other, share and care about society.
Most of the software lacks the other things I mentioned, they are only focused on selling user’s data, make profit, do not respect privacy.
It makes me think what type of society we are living in. These big tech companies are big because of us. We are using their software, accepting their Terms and Conditions and agreeing that they can sell our data. More of that data is private and sold without our consent. The profit is of these companies only.
We are merely a dot in their huge amount of database. Our data is processed, refined and sold to advertising companies. This is so disheartening; convenience, is not greater than privacy.
So what should we do?
Use Free software. Here Free means Freedom, not in terms of cost but liberty.
What to do now?
There are people who care about you. FSF- Free Software Foundation is a non profit organization with a mission to promote user freedom. FSF India is Indian group of people actively working towards freedom of users. Study about what is Free software. There are applications, software, devices that are completely Free as in Freedom. These applications respect user’s privacy and Freedom. Use them! There exists alternatives to every platform we use, we should use software that respects user Privacy and Freedom.
How to know what application respects user privacy and Freedom?
- Software which provides the source code to public.
- Software that does not contain any hidden function.
- Apps which does not show advertisements.
- Apps which does not sell your data.
- Apps which are Free and Open source.

I want to provide all the information about FOSS, encourage people to use more of FOSS software.
