Any device that you use should help you to be better than yourself.
Today i got a tablet to test and playaround.
- Device name: Lenovo tab 4-10
- Connectivity: Wifi, LTE Data
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: 16GB
- Android: 8.1.0
- Kernel: 3.18.71
- CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 425
As this tablet was not setup in front of me, i had to reset the tablet.
1. Tablet should have only important applications that are suited to owner.
As this tablet is from Lenono with Android, whatever these people decided that should be in the tablet they placed it inside.
But it was against my consent. So i removed / disabled all of them.
Which include:
- All apps from
- Microsoft
- Lenovo
- Amazon
This is what is left now.
2. A device should be as plain and simple possible,
Let the owner add applications, wallpapers and all the personalization according to them.
Fdroid you also can get simple
- applications
- alternatives
- with ability to study the source code
3. For technical owner:
A technical owner should be
- aware of all the network connections that the device is making to work.
- all the data that is required and data that is collected from you.
- disallowing all the unnessary permissions from all applications.
Sneaky!!!!???!!!!
why
- mtalk.google.com??
- prwn.lenovomm.com??
i don’t want my device to talk to them.
4. Restrict components from communication:
Owner should be able to block every
- app
- request
- connection
from the device they own.
RethinkDNS for better analysis of your internet connect device.
5. Control over sensors:
Owner should be able to control all the sensors of the device:
- Camera
- Mic
- Location
- Gyroscope
- Motion sensors
Owner should be an actual owner of the device not just be fake owner.
